Travel to cool Long Beach for two wonderful adventures! First, take a journey of discovery through the world’s largest ocean at the Aquarium of the Pacific, including the new Pacific Visions wing. An OLLI exclusive behind-the-scenes tour provides a sneak peek into the daily operations of the Aquarium of the Pacific where you will enter the “wet side” of the aquarium, a section not normally open to the public. See what it takes to maintain a world-class aquarium from water filtration to animal care and feeding and learn interesting facts about the Aquarium of the Pacific’s 11,000 animals.
After the aquarium, enjoy a no-host lunch on site or at one of the adjacent restaurants. Then sit back for a 45-minute harbor cruise, where you will learn the history of the harbor and see the beautiful Long Beach skyline, California Sea Lions playing in the harbor, the world famous Queen Mary, large cargo and container ships from all over the world, and much more!
