STEM Education Option Information
Welcome to our STEM Education website! The MA in Education: STEM Education Option (formerly Math and Science Education Option) is designed to prepare 21st century STEM educators and leaders by facilitating a broader understanding of the interdisciplinary nature of STEM, a deeper knowledge of discipline-specific content, and new integrative approaches for the teaching and learning of STEM content.
This new program offers a sequence of courses to enhance teachers’ knowledge and practice in STEM education through hands-on experiences, collaborations and reflections, with a focus on Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and the Next Generation Science Standards.
Teachers will be able to prepare students for the 21st century global society through engaging them in authentic inquiry, real world problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, productive collaboration and effective communication.
- Units: 48 quarter units
- Length: 6 quarters or 2 Years (Fall, Winter, Spring)
- Delivery mode: Face-to-face and online/video
- Location: CSU San Bernardino and Palm Desert Campuses (simulcast)
- Tuition discount: Contingent on passing CSET for Foundational Math and/or General Science while enrolled in program
