English major provides broad preparation for any career requiring people
to think, analyze, and write. It is one of the best preparations for
students who plan to attend law school, and it provides skills valued by
businesses of all kinds. In a more obvious way, an English major
prepares students for careers as English teachers, writers, and editors. |

Students majoring in
English at CSUSB may choose from a broad range of courses in literature,
language, and writing. All majors take a common core of courses in
literary analysis, literary history, and the English language.
