Parking citations must be paid within 21 calendar days of the date of citation issue. Payments received after that time are subject to an additional fee, a late charge, and subject to a DMV vehicle registration hold.
APPEALS
Individuals who receive a parking citation and believe that extraordinary or mitigating circumstances warrant waiver of their parking fine may petition the Parking Services Department for reconsideration. Parking citations may be appealed within 21 calendar days of the date of citation issue. Review of a citation may be requested by submitting a letter or a Request for Citation Review form to Parking Services. Forms are available at the Parking Services Palm Desert Office at (760) 341-2883. Late fees do not accrue during the period that the appeal is under consideration. Those dissatisfied with the decision of Parking Services may petition for an Administrative Hearing within 21 calendar days of the appeal decision.
