INdian Wells Pops

Band Playing the Pops

Join a group of top instrumentalists and alums from the Les Brown, Stan Kenton, Tex Beneke and Harry James bands, and a classy, sassy collection of professional recording artists.

The group performs live music with the energy of the great classic big bands, largely because it is made up of former players from bands like Maynard Ferguson, Buddy Rich, Bob Crosby and the Bobcats, and Woody Herman.

Every major metropolis in America has its own Pops orchestra, now Palm Desert has one as well at the Indian Wells Theater!

Glenn Miller? Harry James? Tommy Dorsey? Stan Kenton? Les Brown? Count Basie? And on, and on, and on! These guys and a host of others were the kings of the big bands, putting out hit after hit, playing in ballrooms all across a dance crazy America. The Big Band All-Stars will recreate the marvelous arrangements of these icons of popular music, bringing back that wonderful era when we were all a little younger! Big band singer Cassie Miller (The Harry James Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Perry Como, Andy Williams) brought up in this classic tradition, will wow you with her tribute to the big bands.
