- The Palm Desert
Health Sciences building is expected to open
in 2008, with high tech health sciences classrooms, labs,
and the electronic library.
- "This structure will complete the
initial phase of CSUSB's Palm Desert Campus," said Fred
Jandt, Dean of the campus.
|
- The new
23,000-square-foot structure will be utilized to train nurses,
and students in other allied health professions. The
building will be named in honor of the city of Palm Desert,
which provided $4.5 million toward its construction.
-
- The campus also received gifts from
seven other Coachella Valley cities (Rancho Mirage, Indio, La
Quinta, Cathedral City, Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs and
Coachella), the Desert Healthcare District and County of
Riverside, as well as other gifts from individuals and
foundations. Cost of construction is estimated at $15 million.
