Arts in Action is a new campaign, established this year, to increase the capacity of the Palm Desert Campus to host plays, concerts, workshops and lectures in the Indian Wells Theater and maintain and insure the sculptures in the Betty Barker Sculpture Garden. In addition, the University employees many talented, renown writers, musicians and visual and performance art professors whose skills can be called upon to enrich the cultural life of the Coachella Valley. However, even the most modest of workshops or classes is costly to mount.  And since our principal role is to provide the education needed for residents to attain a college degree, the extent to which we can expand our arts offerings is dependent on the level of support we receive for the Arts in Action campaign.
